Mr. David E. Abshier has over 25 years of banking and executive management experience in a variety of functions, including: management and regulatory consulting/advisory, expert testimony, chief credit officer, risk assessment manager, corporate compliance manager, senior federal bank examiner, financial and credit analyst, and branch operations officer. Mr. Abshier provides consulting and advisory services to financial institutions throughout the United States and overseas, including services related to strategic planning, financial analysis, organizational assessments, director and management reviews, credit risk management, commercial and residential mortgage loan underwriting and securitization, loan servicing, litigation support, corporate governance, and enterprise-wide risk management.
Mr. Jon Anderson has spent the last ten years as an Information Security professional which included roles within the financial services industry, where he was responsible for conducting both third party and internal cybersecurity risk assessments for regional and national banking organizations. He has continued his career as a Cybersecurity Lead with Schellman where he conducts cybersecurity assessment work for a broad range of clients and services. Prior to Information Security roles, Mr. Anderson spent eight years as an information technology practitioner, providing support, development, design, implementation, and maintenance for a variety of information technology products, platforms, and clients.
Mr. John Anello has 30+ years of experience, in Trade Finance, in both the banking and corporate sectors. He is currently responsible for Trade Finance Financial Institution sales, for Deutsche Bank New York, covering the United States and Canada. Mr. Anello’s role is to deliver the bank’s trade finance global network, products and solutions to client banks, as well as placing DB originated deals through our correspondent FI network. Prior to his role in TFFI sales, Mr. Anello spent 12 years as Regional Americas Head of Trade Operations and Services for DB.
Mr. Tom Beube is Senior Vice President and Director of Wintrust Financial Corporations International Services Group. The Wintrust International Services Group supports the bank’s commercial and retail bank customers for all activities involving cross border trade finance, Foreign Exchange payments and hedging strategies, global payments, Standby letters of credit and cross border guarantees. Mr. Beube joined Wintrust 10 years ago after spending 14 years with ABN AMRO Bank and 3 years with Bank of America. While Chicago is his home, Mr. Beube has had assignments in Hong Kong, Detroit and Shanghai during his time with ABN AMRO.
Ms. Brooke Brown serves as the AML Risk Manager at Umpqua Bank in Portland, OR where she began as an AML Investigations Analyst in 2014. In her current role, Ms. Brown is responsible for the development and implementation of a BSA/AML quality control testing program, the BSA/AML/OFAC risk assessment, and the buildout of enterprise-wide risk management from a BSA/AML perspective. She is dedicated to identifying risk and working in collaboration to provide tactical solutions designed to meet regulatory requirements. Prior to joining the BSA/AML world to focus on detecting financial crime patterns, Ms. Brown spent almost 17 years working at the Portland Police Bureau as a Forensic Identification Technician focused on identifying criminals.
John Ciccarone is Senior Vice President and Deputy Head of the Technical Solutions and Network Management team in Wells Fargo’s Global Payment Services Group. John’s team is responsible providing technical support and setting the strategic direction of the Treasury, Foreign Currency Payments and Multi-Currency Account products for Wells Fargo’s Financial Institution and NBFI clients. John’s team is also responsible for supporting enterprise level initiatives such as the application of DLT, API’s and the impact of Open Banking.
Brian Gordon started his banking career at National Bank of Commerce in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1989 while attending the University of Nebraska. In 2000 he joined Wells Fargo (via acquisition) where he focused his calling in the 7 states surrounding Missouri as a business development officer for the Wells Fargo HSBC Trade Bank. He then joined Sovereign Bank in the Mid-Atlantic & New England markets to build from scratch a structured trade finance group. Before returning to the Midwest to join Commerce Bank, he was with HSBC in New York City as an international business development officer covering CT, NJ, NY, PA, MD, VA, and Washington DC.
Gerardo Gutierrez-Olvera joined Grupo Financiero BANORTE 11 years ago as Executive Director, responsible for Trade Finance and International Business. BANORTE is the second largest bank in Mexico, and the only one among the 6 largest banks in the country that is managed by a Mexican management team. Gerardo joined BANORTE after more than 20 years of comprehensive and substantial experience in the international banking arena with Banco Santander and Bank of America, working for those institutions both, at a local and regional level, in Mexico City, Monterrey, New York City, Madrid (Latin American Division) and Hong Kong (Asia-Pacific regional hub). His main focus has been on the development, management, sales, operations, and growth of business lines related to trade & supply chain finance, global payments, corporate banking, financial institutions, correspondent banking and treasury services. Under Gerardo’s leadership Banorte was named Best Service Trade Finance (Mexico) in Euromoney’s Trade Finance Survey 2024, and Best Trade Finance Provider in Mexico by Global Finance in 2019.
Mr. Patrick Hayes is the East Coast Regional Manager of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Export Solutions Group. He manages a group of nine Export Finance Specialists delivering SBA’s export loan programs to small and mid-sized exporters. He is co-located with the U.S. Department of Commerce at the U.S. Export Assistance Center in Cleveland, Ohio. The SBA is a small independent federal Agency designed to help small businesses grow and prosper. The SBA has made it a priority to provide small business exporters with access to the necessary capital needed to expand their export sales.
Mr. Doug Kemper is the Director of International Banking Services for Washington Trust Bank. He is responsible for all things international including payment products, trade finance, relationship manager training, external marketing and correspondent bank relationships. Immediately prior to his present position, he was the President and CEO of the non-profit Export Finance Assistance Center of Washington which provided export finance counsel to SMEs and community banks in the State of Washington. Mr. Kemper has many years of commercial banking and trade finance experience with regional and community banks. He commenced his financial services career as a US Treasury Department/OCC National Bank Examiner based in Seattle and London.
Mr. Dino Kos is responsible for monitoring the potential impact on CLS of any external developments from governmental bodies and industry groups. He is also a member of the Strategic Committee of Agence France Trésor. He spent over 20 years at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (FRBNY), rising to the position of Executive Vice President of the Markets Group, with responsibility for open market operations, foreign exchange trading, and correspondent banking services provided by the FRBNY to other central banks. Mr. Kos also represented the FRBNY at numerous international meetings, including those of G10 central banks at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), the Treasury Borrowing Advisory Committee, and the Foreign Exchange Committee.
Ms. Sandy Marrone, Senior Vice President, manages the Foreign Exchange & International Trade Product team within the Product & Innovation Group for Key’s Enterprise Commercial Payments business. Her team provides product management and sales support for the bank’s global trade, foreign exchange and international payment services. This set of product offerings includes traditional documentary trade services, FX and international treasury management solutions for KeyBank’s corporate clients. Ms. Marrone has been involved in the trade finance business during her entire 35-year career at KeyBank and its predecessor banks beginning with global trade operations.
Allan Matamis is Senior Vice President and Manager of the Enterprise Letter of Credit Operations team at Zions Bancorporation. He is responsible for the day-to-day operations, processing, and delivery of all trade products for Zions Bancorporation and is in charge of three processing centers: Los Angeles, Salt Lake City and Houston where he is permanently based. He joined ZB in May of 2019 and has 40 years’ experience in international banking. Before joining ZB, Mr. Matamis was Director of Trade Services, Payments Servicing and LC Operations at CoBank, ACB in Colorado and has been the Vice President and Manager of Export Letters of Credit at Deutsche Bank AG, New York. Mr. Matamis also worked for Standard Chartered Bank, UBS AG, CSFB, JP Morgan Chase, and Bank of America. He is a member of the Bankers Association for Finance and Trade (BAFT) Regional Bank Council, the Southeast and West Coast Letter of Credit committees
Dan Moran has over 30 years of experience in the technology & financial services industry. He has held a variety of IT, consulting & commercial roles in Europe, Asia and the Americas, including leading the SWIFT Customer Security Program for Americas-UK region. Dan is an avid advocate for good practices in cyber security defence, detection & response. With a background in software and finance, Dan has proven expertise in helping customers flourish even in the most challenging and critical business environments.
Ms. Donna Murphy is the Deputy Comptroller for Compliance Risk Policy at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. In this role, she oversees the development of policy and examination procedures for Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering issues, as well as consumer compliance, fair lending, and the Community Reinvestment Act. Prior to assuming this role, she served as Director of the OCC’s Community and Consumer Law Division, overseeing the office that provides legal interpretations, advice and support on consumer protection, fair lending, and community reinvestment issues to OCC policymakers, managers and staff. Ms. Murphy joined the OCC in 2013 from the United States Department of Justice where she served in various capacities in the Civil Rights Division, including managing the Division’s fair lending enforcement program for 10 years. She received her law degree from Yale Law School, and is a summa cum laude graduate of the American University in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Anthony “Tony” Oriti manages the day-to-day activities of the International Banking Division at Umpqua Bank (“Umpqua”). Based in San Francisco, his Division is responsible for International Sales, Credit, Operations, Systems, Product Management and Correspondent Banking programs for Umpqua. The Division provides global working capital, import and export trade cycle finance, foreign exchange services, cash management and liquidity solutions to commercial, corporate and institutional clients of Umpqua. Mr. Oriti brings over 40+ years of international banking, trade finance and cross-border payments experience to Umpqua. Prior to joining Umpqua, Mr. Oriti held various senior managerial positions at Greater Bay Bank, Imperial Bank and Bank of America where he was responsible for building International Banking Units from ground up.
T.J. Raguso has served as Group Executive Vice President of International Banking, Foreign Exchange and Correspondent Banking since 2015, having previously served as Manager of International Banking, at its Texas subsidiary, Amegy Bank, since 2005. Zions Bancorporation is one of the nation's premier financial services companies, with total assets exceeding $85 billion. T.J. joined Amegy Bank in 1998 and has 29 years of experience in trade finance, letters of credit, EXIM Bank lending, commercial lending, foreign exchange and international correspondent banking. His activities focus on the unique banking needs of importers, exporters and companies involved in global trade.
Mr. Amar Rathor joined Standard Chartered in 2006 and has since held multiple roles in client coverage and banking transformation. He currently leads the FinTech coverage and advisory team for Americas. Most recently Mr. Rathor led Standard Chartered Bank’s technology and innovation office in Silicon Valley, keeping the bank at the forefront of key technologies and emerging trends. Prior to that he spent 5 years with Financial Institutions Group in Singapore and New York. Mr. Rathor has global international banking and strategy experience and apart from Standard Chartered, he has led transformational programs at Credit Suisse, Accenture and GE Capital.
Mr. Booshan Rengachari is the President and CEO of SwapsTech, which he founded with the objective to bring leading edge transaction technologies to the financial industry, connecting banks and their clients through simplified experiences akin to the experiences of our own children enjoying every day on their modern devices. He aims to allow financial service providers to afford the benefits of innovation technology and dramatically lower barriers to entry and expansion in their business lines. Mr. John Rodriguez is Past Chair of the Florida International Bankers Association (FIBA) and has been a strong industry advocate for international banking on the topic of trade finance and derisking. He has over 30 years of experience in international banking, commercial lending and trade financing for banks and corporates in the Americas. He was most recently with Barclays Bank PLC where he headed the Americas’ FIG business for the Corporate Bank covering banks in the US, Canada and Latin America. Mr. Rodriguez has cultivated longstanding relationships dating to his tenure at Wells Fargo N.A. and legacy institutions where he covered public sector and financial institutions throughout the US, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean.
Emy Ruiz currently oversees the bank’s Global Trade and Supply Chain Finance team responsible for managing liquidity solutions for the banks clients. Ms. Ruiz has over 30 years of banking experience with 20 years in Global Trade Finance management responsible for Open account solutions, trade finance, traditional trade, portfolio management, risk mitigation and product development. She has held various leadership positions in Credit, commercial, corporate and international sales with various financial institutions with vast domestic and international capabilities, including Southeast Bank, First Union and Regions Bank. She is very active in various international Chambers and United Way.
Mr. Michael Salerno is the Vice President of Global Banking at First National Bank of Omaha where he manages a diverse portfolio of corporate and correspondent bank customers. He consults with trade and treasury management professionals to help define, create, and implement effective trade finance, global payments and international risk management solutions. Mr. Salerno specializes in providing foreign exchange and international payment solutions for financial institutions. He is the Treasurer for both the Nebraska District Export Council and the National Association of District Export Councils.
Ms. Diane Stewart is Senior Vice President & Manager of U.S. Bank’s Supply Chain Finance Division. Over 20 years with the Structured Trade Finance divisions of National Westminster Bank, JPMorganChase and Citibank, her area of focus was on export finance solutions supported by U.S. and foreign government agencies, multilateral and bilateral organizations, and private insurance underwriters. Over the past 17 years, at U.S. Bank, her area of focus has been primarily on Supply Chain Finance. Ms. Stewart completed various wholesale bank training programs at JPMorganChase, Citibank, and U.S. Bank, and undergraduate studies at Loyola University, Chicago.
Ms. Clarisse Valbon is a Regional Account Manager primarily focused on the Banking segment at SWIFT. In her role, she helps mid-sized banks with their payments strategies, across North America. Prior to joining SWIFT, Ms. Valbon spent several years in the financial services industry, with companies like Misys where she concentrated on Commercial Lending and Risk Management.
