Demystifying Stablecoins: Understanding Their Role in the Future of Transaction Banking

Stablecoins are redefining how value moves across borders—offering faster, cheaper, and more transparent ways to transact while bridging traditional banking and digital assets. Yet alongside these opportunities come important challenges in regulation, risk management, and adoption.

Based on BAFT’s Impact of Stablecoins on Payments white paper, this three-hour interactive workshop explores how stablecoins are reshaping the transaction banking landscape. Participants will gain a clear understanding of what stablecoins are, how they are being used in cross-border and corporate payment contexts, and what implications they hold for financial institutions, regulators, and clients. The session also examines emerging alternatives such as Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) and tokenized deposits, concluding with key recommendations for industry stakeholders.

Through real-world examples, group discussions, and scenario exercises, participants will gain practical insights into how digital assets and tokenized money are influencing the next generation of transaction banking.

This workshop is co-located with the BAFT Europe Forum. Participants may choose to attend the workshop only or register for the Europe Forum, which includes the workshop in the registration fee.
